Position Overview

A registered nurse provides comprehensive care to patients and assists doctors and physicians in treating them. They can practice independently or under the supervision of a doctor, physician assistant, surgeon, or another licensed physician within a healthcare setting. This opportunity will involve working in a mental health hospital with adolescents. Prior experience doing so is desired and recommended.

We need 2 RNs on 1st shift weekly. Working two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week.

We also need 2 RNs on 3rd shift weekly. Working two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week.

This can be stressful, but it is also very rewarding work to help adolescents. They need your care.

Essential Job Functions

  • Providing the necessary care for adolescent patients
  • Record patient medical history
  • Administer medications based on conditions and symptoms
  • Take patient vitals and start IVs for patients
  • Guarantee patient confidentiality is kept intact
  • Act as a liaison for patients and the families of patients
  • Monitoring the care that patients receive
  • Offering assistance that is in the best interest of the patient
  • Interceding for patients in situations that require action immediately
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Degree level: Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) or associate degree in nursing (ADN)
  • Active Certifications and/or Licenses
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Effective communicator

Physical Requirements

Nurses often work long shifts and must have the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, transport patients by pushing or pulling gurneys and wheelchairs, and lift patients as needed. In addition to these general skills, a Nurse could be expected by potential employers to possess the following skills. Eye hand coordination skills and ability to manipulate objects.
