Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Duties: As an integral part of our healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and evaluating the work of multiple nurses in the care and treatment of residents.
  • Assisting in the administration of medications, treatments, and dressings.
  • Conducting rounds of nursing units a minimum of three (3) times per shift to discuss problems with the Charge Nurse and ensure optimum care is provided.
  • Ensuring employees adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of the daily staffing plan, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Facilitating unit management by expediting paperwork, participating in the hiring process, and maintaining a conducive atmosphere for residents' needs.
  • Providing information and education to staff and families regarding WPRNC policies and procedures.
  • Offering counseling for staff in relation to job clarification, job performance, and personnel regulations.
  • Supplying units with necessary equipment and medical supplies.
  • Maintaining and providing a variety of records and reports.
  • Conferring with nursing administration and keeping them apprised of all relevant issues.
  • Communicating and collaborating with the Clinical Care Coordinator concerning problems related to resident care and staff duties.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a course of study approved by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Licensure to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • COVID vaccination is required.

Standard Shifts:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Night shift
  • Overnight shift

Supplemental Schedule:

  • Extended hours
  • Holidays
  • Overtime

Weekly Schedule:

  • 3x12
  • 5x8
  • Every weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating weekends
  • Weekends as needed

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • RN (Required)
