Post Coronary Care Unit RN cares for a wide variety of patients with complex medical conditions requiring exceptional care. PCCU is a cardiac step down unit focusing on the care of patients with acute coronary syndrome, CHF, other vascular diseases as well as post cardiac surgical patients. RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • collaboration with other health professionals,
  • assessment and analyzing assessment data,
  • establishing goals,
  • planning care strategy,
  • establishing priorities of care,
  • implementing care,
  • delegating tasks safely,
  • providing safe, direct and indirect nursing care,
  • evaluating responses to interventions,
  • and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
