ACI Federal is seeking compassionate and caring CNAs for a local assignment at a facility that is solely dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of persons over the age of 65 in a 123-bed geriatric hospital. You will work under the supervision of Registered nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical nurses (LPNs) to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of elderly individuals. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient health, and providing companionship and support to improve their quality of life.
Facility Location: Burkeville, VA. Local hires only. No travel hires at this time.
Shifts Available:
2nd Shift: 3PM - 11:30PM
3rd Shift: 11:00PM - 7:00AM
Salary: $20 to 24/hr
40 hours per week
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Certified Nursing Assistant to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
- Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee’s capabilities and job requirements.
- Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensing and regulations of state employment or practice.
- Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
- Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
- Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
- Able to make independent judgments and prioritizes workload.
- Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure you are current with present practices and trends in healthcare specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
- Follows the corporate safety policy.
- Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
- Identifies “close calls” and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Graduated from an accredited CNA program.
- High School Diploma.
- Active and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License in VA and ability to be favorably credentialed.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
- Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current BLS certification.
- 3 years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting as required for patient care and transport.
