LPNs play a vital role in providing care and support to residents. They contribute to the overall well-being of residents by carrying out various clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Job Duties:
- Assisting new residents in adjusting to the unit, philosophy, and goals of Willow Point Nursing Home.
- Reporting any accidents or changes in the resident's condition to the Charge Nurse and documenting on progress notes in the chart.
- Discussing clinical issues regarding resident care with the Charge Nurse.
- Collaborating as a member of the interdisciplinary team to prepare, implement, and evaluate the care plan.
- Observing, recording, and reporting progress or changes in the resident's condition.
- Updating the care plan as needed.
- Administering and dispensing medications (excluding IV) to residents, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Securing and accounting for controlled drugs.
- Maintaining nursing care and administrative records and reports.
- Attending staff meetings and participating in in-service programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a course of study approved by the New York State Education Department, qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in New York State.
- COVID vaccination required.
