Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing individualized care to customers and their families according to established standards, policies, and procedures. Depending on clinic, customer populations may include infants, children adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The LPN provides observation, monitoring, and intervention when necessary.
Essential Duties:
- Assist customers to exam rooms and obtain vitals while ensuring room is prepped for exam.
- Assist providers with exams, procedure and treatments.
- Perform diagnostic tests, which may include but are not limited to: EKG's, Nebulizers, Peak Flows, O2 Sats, Vision / Hearing Screening, tympanograms, general laboratory and radiology if indicated. Documents results in EMR and communicates to provider.
- Give injections and other medication as ordered by provider.
- Schedule customers for referral exams, procedures and treatments as needed.
- Prepare customer rooms for exams by cleaning, stocking rooms with supplies and equipment.
- Notify customers of test and procedure results, per provider direction.
- May be asked to screen customer phone calls, gather and document pertinent information and follow-up per provider direction.
- Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.

Typical Day:
Very busy; 130-180 appts daily; LPNs work mostly in the lab setting; accessing ports/PICCs for blood draws, venipuncture, injections, chemo pump disconnects, rooming functions, EKGs, work with EPIC tx plans, etc.
