Job description

Purpose of Position: To provide social work interventions for inpatient psychiatric patients, including psychosocial assessments, provision of psychosocial services and discharge planning to ensure that appropriate community supports for stable community living and recovery are available and accessible. This position does not include any tele-work options.

KSA’s and/or Competencies: Advance knowledge of social work interventions, particularly casework and group work, is essential. The candidate should possess advanced knowledge of mental illnesses, substance abuse/addiction and skills related to psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery models of intervention. The candidate should be knowledgeable of community systems of care and services and the skills to access them. The candidate must have the ability to serve as a member of interdisciplinary teams and/or committees to accomplish objectives. The candidate must have effective communication skills with ability to interact with patients, family members, and community-based organizations as well as with coworkers.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required for the position:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker status or
  • Eligibility for State Clinical Social Work licensure
  • MSW from an accredited graduate school of social work and a minimum of 1000 hours of postgraduate clinical supervision is preferred.
  • Case work/group work experience.

Term: 6 months minimum with choice to renew, to be evaluated. We are interested in a candidate who would like to find permanent placement. We start candidates on the 10th & 25th of each month to align with New Hire Orientation.
