Experience: 2 years as an RN, 1 year in specialty
Active AZ license or Compact License
Required Certifications: BLS, Preferred: ACLS
Unit Information
- Department: Med Surg | Tele
- Number of Beds: 90 (double occupancy beds)
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-5 days, 6-7 nocs
- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Mostly medical - Pneumonia, COPD, Radiation pts, AKI, occasional lap chole, appy, etc.
- RNs Required to Titrated Drips: Heparin & lasix gtt - non-titrated
- Charge Nurse on Each Shift: Charge - sometimes free but can take assignment if needed
- Nurse Aids/Patient Care Techs: PCA, 8-12 per person
- RT Equipment: Bipap, stable trach
- Tele/Monitor Techs: Tele on this unit; dedicated monitor tech
- Shifts & Scheduling: 6:45pm-7:15 am
- Weekend Requirement: Every other
- Holiday Requirement: Typically 2/3 holidays
- Call or Standby Requirement: Low Census On Call
- Floating Requirements: MedSurg, stable low acuity in ICU
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Unit/Department Specific Orientation: One NEO, one clinical ed/EPIC, one day floor
