Job Summary: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our long-term care facility, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Your duties will include assessing resident needs, administering medications, wound care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  2. Monitoring resident health status and reporting any changes to the registered nurse or physician.
  3. Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
  4. Documenting resident care activities and maintaining accurate medical records.
  5. Communicating effectively with residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team
  6. Adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
  2. Current LPN licensure in the state of Maryland
  3. CPR certification.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  6. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  7. Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required.
  8. Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects and residents.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for administering medications and treatments.
